The Festival of Navel

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Recently, Japenese people are celebrating a festival about navel. They paint on their belly various patterns in different colors and go into the streets, singing and dancing.

This is actually a news I read from the reuters. It is reported that this festival is not traditional. Instead, it is a kind of celebration that should be rooted back to a conventional behavior of a political party. Now it has been developed into a widely accepted festival in Japanese society.

On this festival, people would paint their navel into big mouths and their belly into different faces so as to attract attention. It is welcome to all ages.

Great~!

My finals are approaching it ending. Next Thusday will witness my freeing from this campus!

Logged on-line, I received mails from my friend asking me when am I going to Guangzhou. This is not a simple Q&A session. It made me excited about the up-coming months. Moreover, I received the invitation from my CS(Couch Surfing) host. She accepted me as her guest in Shenzhen. Hope it be a nice experience for me to trust a stranger and enter her life range.

People are usually indifferent to those who stay around them. I am one of them. However, our indifference does not at all mean we are cold-blooded or something. This is only because we are protecting ourselves against a certain kind of uncertainty. This time, I believe it will be a challenge for me to break down my habitual way of behaving; it will be a turning point of my way of dealing with people, either for better or for worse.

I am now excited about my adventurous summer holidays. Anyway, wish myself good luck!

New Police Story

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

These days I’ve long been tied-hand-and-foot to my revision for the on-going exams. Today we have one day off to take a breath. After we finished the Business Correspondence, we returned to the dorm as if we had planned to. All the girls put down books to enjoy TV progms.

I am not fond of action movies, especially the cliche ones telling the story between the policemen the the criminals. How many of them have been made to including blowing up half of the Kowloon and wrecking a dozen police cars? Too much means nonsense.

However, as my roommate recommended, unwillingly, I started to watch it– New Policy Story. It, however, bears not so much weak points of the traditional policy stories, which makes it a little bit watchable.

At the beginning of the movie, Officer Wing (Jacky Chan) hanging out drunk on an alcoholic bender a year after something terrible happend to him and his collegues. Flash back to the scene of the crime, and we watch with horror as the teenager gang fellows led by Joe (Daniel Wu) ambushes Wing’s entire SWAT team inside the obligatory abandoned warehouse and finally kills them all.

One year later Wing is even more horrified to learn that those teens have created a video game based on the slaughter of the cops and have posted it on the net for the world to enjoy. Annoyed Wing is inspired to get in shape and get back to work.

Actually, this movie is none-exceptionally bound to chases between cops an the criminals. Anyway, nothing beyond my expectation in the part.  However, there is one thing that I must admit. That is Jacky Chan has done a amazing job in this action movie because he seemed not at all being bothered by his age. What’s more, he acts himself this time. I mean, he dosen’t make up so much to cover his wrinckles and aged face. You know, nowadays actors especially some actress are always doing movies beyond their reach, say pretend to be unbeliveably younger than themselve.

Therefore, I would say New Police Story is one of the few action films that can be accepted by me as watchable. Maybe boys would find it more interesting.

June 29

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Several days since my last surfing on net. Tomorrow is the first day of our final exams. We are going to have the wring test at first.

I haven’t done sufficient preparation for my finals. Unlike last semester, I can hardlly concentrate. I would like to owe the fault to the scorching weather. The sun keeps shinning all the way through this month, sparing us not at all any raindrops. Rarely can I hear any birds singing outside. Instead, the cigalas are hysterially groaning against the panic.

Summer is my favorate season, because I love the feeling of sweating. However, this very season are making people mad and blundering. Nothing can be achieved in his test of self-decipline. Winter is the last season I would like to live in. But people are more likely to be patient and calm.

I hope tomorrow heaven will bestow us a shower of rainfalls. Sweating me!

So~ Tired~

From around 2 o’clock on, I’ve been sitting here doin’ my translation hw. Finally I have it done and sent to the prof. Hue~~ Really a big project! Once at a time my eyes  enrapt, brain sticky and body numb. What a torture!

It’s shameful for me to admit that being a translator is one of my dreams. Sorry for my laziness and weakness. A translator would by no means have anything in common with me. I can’t work long, I can’t keep sober, and it seems just I can’t even do anything successfully if keep on with the theory.

Wow, stop thinking those nonesense! Or I’ll get devastated. I’m not goin’ to kill myself, because I’m dizzy here with nobody to comfort me when I am overwhelmingly pessimistic.

OK. I wanna to stop here today. After powering off the computer I will… well through myself into my solitude single bed. Hope I can find back myself when wake up. Good luck for you and me.

You may think the little girl in this picture is nothing special but only a small kid. What if she is an adult looking just as you see now in the picture? One the first sight, I couldn’t at all trust the new agency over this piece. However, the following pictures are real convincing.

(They are: Jyoti on phone, beside a bucket and with a 13-MONTH boy) She is obviously smaller than the baby!

Born in Dec 16th, 1993, Indian girl Jyoti is only 23.5 inch in height and 5.25 kg in weight. According to the record in India, she is the tiniest girl in the world ever since.

Jyoti was diagnosed to be suffering from achondroplasia, which directly made her size some small.

Salary before Work?

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

As Junior students we are now mostly concerned about job and future. There is a piece of news on the net recently. Quite misterious.

A recently opened company in Haikou had a very strange stretagy in its recruitment: it promised to give salary to its employees in advance.

Ms Huang, one of the eight employees said she was introduced to this company by her friend. After being received, the boss didn’t ask them for garantee deposite, rather he alloted 800 RMB to each employee on the first day they come to work.

When asked why, the manager gave his explanation as follows” I want to establish trust between the stuff and the employer. In this way they can work peacefully without worrying about salary delay and deficiency… I think I’d rather place heartly trust on my employees, since I have already received them as my company stuffs. I don’t think they will flee away with only 800 yuan. Even if that happens, my loss won’ t be unbearable… I think I can stick to this rule and my own principle of supervising my the operation.”

I don’t know the vealy new manager is truely want to change the distrust between boss and employers, or rather he is as sly as to use the 6400 RMB for an intendeed advertisement. If it is the latter, I think he is born to be an actor AND a business fox.

PPP is great!

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

I found payperpost when I was surfing on internet. The ad of “Get paid to blog about the things you love!” on the first page of the website impressed me deeply. It’s great that it can make money through blog. I like blog very much and I like to keep a record of my life. It’s really a good opportunity if I can make money throng the way I like. So, I signed up.

After signing up, I read the agreement carefully first, and then I understood that only the blog which satisfied the requirements can help me to make money. It’s fortunately that my blog is qualified and I can get paid from PPP. When I saw the suitable chance, I selected this topic of “I signed up for PPP”. This is my first paid comment.

I hope to feast one of my friends, Dannil, in Pizza Hut with the first award I get from PPP and told him my experience with PPP since he also is a blog lover. If I can get more money from PPP, I would buy a new apple notebook to enjoy writing blog.

PPP is a surprising place and it arouses my enthusiasm to blog.

Carpter?

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

People are constantly bothered by crowded traffic conditions. It wastes us lots and lots time only sitting in the car, cursing and swearing helplessly. However, Holland people are to say goodbye to the fussy trouble by replacing their on-road automobile for a brand new invention—flying car!

2.jpg

Usually, the car is a simple three-wheel auto. But when it comes to traffic jams, it can be transformed into a mini helicopter, leaving others shouting “gorgeous!” in streets.

The inventor believes that the “carpter” is going to have a big shot on the market. It’s much more convenient while the price is no higher than regular shuttles. Holland is now planning to build 60 helicopter ports to meet the future need.
