May Day

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

This afternoon, the teacher had us dismissed 10 minutes in advance, for all of us were distracted by the coming holiday and showed no concentration at all to the lecture.

Several friends of mine are goin’ to take the coming days off to have a journey. One is on the train to Beijing now, the other two heading for Baoji. When asked what is my plan for the May Day, I am short of words, cause’ I have nothing in mind. I’d rather stay on campus than to be squeezed in the buses or trains and then go to supermalls full of people.

I think now I am quite used to the tranquil and peaceful life of staying here, having almost nothing excithing at all. Sometimes, I was wondering “Am I still young”?

Tomorrow morning, I am going to get up at 8:00am and go to have my simple and routine breakfast in the student catine. Have my selfstudy until lunch time. The rest of the day is to be carried out strictly according to the schedule, though I’ve never intended as such.

Chinese Traditional Private School Reappears in Zhejiang

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Chinese traditional private school reappears in Changle villege, Lanxi, Zhejiang province. It’s opened up on April 26, 2008.

Students in this school are taking courses tatolly different from those they have in the normal public schools.

You can never find text books of mathematics, English or even mordern Chinese in this school. Instead, they are having traditional lessons on The Four Books( The Great Learning, The Doctrine of The Mean, The Analects of The Confucius and The Mencius) and The Five Classics. Besides, courses about Chinese traditional etiquettes and culture are scheduled to better cope with the all-round analysis of ancient articles.

Students in the school have to write with Chinese writing brush pen and roll their heads while doing reading and reciting just like the ancient Chinese students did. Both students and tutors are dressed in ancient garments.  While delievering courses, the tutor is goin’ to carried a ferula  in his hand, which I think is only to act more like the anciet tutors rather than to give physical punishment to the kids.

So~ Tired~

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

From around 2 o’clock on, I’ve been sitting here doin’ my translation hw. Finally I have it done and sent to the prof. Hue~~ Really a big project! Once at a time my eyes  enrapt, brain sticky and body numb. What a torture!

It’s shameful for me to admit that being a translator is one of my dreams. Sorry for my laziness and weakness. A translator would by no means have anything in common with me. I can’t work long, I can’t keep sober, and it seems just I can’t even do anything successfully if keep on with the theory.

Wow, stop thinking those nonesense! Or I’ll get devastated. I’m not goin’ to kill myself, because I’m dizzy here with nobody to comfort me when I am overwhelmingly pessimistic.

OK. I wanna to stop here today. After powering off the computer I will… well through myself into my solitude single bed. Hope I can find back myself when wake up. Good luck for you and me.

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

NOTHING special recently, except for this only-myself afternoon in the dorm.

Two went to Chengdu for a competition as I’ve mentioned before, and the only other one is having a conference of Model UN on our campus, leaving only me hear taping the KB. As a matter of fact, I am always left alone. Even sometimes when all of them are on campus, they would go out with there BFs and won’t come back until late in the night…

Then what? I’m just finding nothing seems satisfying. I’m fed up with all these.  My life has been a repetition for long– bein’ awake or asleep, then nothing more. This is why I am wondering what I am here at the foot of the great montain for. To witness the fading of my youth or something?

T-Shirts to Show Patriotism

Friday, April 25th, 2008

Since Apr 7th, when the Tibetan separatists tried to interfere with the torch relay in Paris, people have become closely concerned about Beijing Olympics and most Chinese people now are showing great patriotism in opposing France and even French enterprises such as Carrefour super malls.

There are some interesting DIY T-Shirts initiated by some netizens showing their strong support of Beijing Olympics and their unshakable following after the Chinese governing, or say, foreign interference.

(You can enlarge the photos by a click on them)

I dare not give any comment on this for fear to be accused of any possible crime. All I want to say is that Chinese people’s patriotism shouldn’t never be overwhelming only when there is a riot. Instead, we should always bear in mind the seemingly tiny trivial things we do on every ordinary day for our country’s reputation and development are no less significant and contributive.

Have A Good Journey~

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

This afternoon, two out of my four roommates will get on the train heading Chengdu. They are goin’ to have a contest for business planning and business speech delivering. How I envy them of such a good opportunity to participate in a competition like that and the chance to go to C.D.

They’ve been busy with the complex preparation for quite a long time. I’m confident that their effort will be rewarded. Have a good journey my dear friends! I may you good luck and success!!

The May Day is approaching. Some of my friends are planning to travle. Top on their list are Chongqing, Beijing and Qingdao. To be honest, we’ve long been confined in the cage namely campus. A short distant travel is never a waste. It’s rather a release and refreshment. However, I should wait until passed the BEC Vantage, and even until the summer vacation come. I don’t have any explaination for this decision. It’s only kinda commitment to myself. So PATIENCE!

Top 4 Items for Online Purchase

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Recently, my roommates are almost crazy about on-line shopping. They order perfumes, cosmetics, clothing and shoes in on-line stores. Though a few didn’t go smoothly enough, the products were non-exceptionally returned to the retailers without charge. Most of the goods are quite satisfactory. On-line purchasing is totally a new conception of consuming, which can hardly be accepted by the elder generation. However, that’s a way of being young! Here is a personal finance advice

Obviously, some things are best purchased on the spot. But some can be easily available on line and at the same time save you a lot of time walking and bargaining. Here are 4 items that I would like to recommend as best-on-line-shopping items..

1. Books.

Our class has booked all our text books on line. They much more cheaper than those in the local bookstores. What’s more, as we placed a large order with the retailer, they offered us a considerable discount, which really saved us a sum.

2. DVDs and CDs.

Some online retailers now surface used versions of many of the DVD movies they sell new. You may find similar deals for online CDs.

3. Little kids’ toys.

They are vividly shown on the homepages demonstrating the toy from every angle. Then you can’t get it wrong. Meanwhile, you can get the same plush toy at a amazingly lower price than in the Toy House in you neighborhood.

4. Software and console games.

Buy used, and you’ll pay half or less what the software cost new. But it’s more than just a matter of economy. Letting someone else be the early adopter also allows you to benefit from their experience.

Funnitures

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Have you ever heared of such a thing named funnitures? I guess not, because I invent the word on myself~! Hahhah.. After you see the pictures and my brief introduction you will know why.

These are a pair of sofas. Can you believe it? Really, these two cute cotton mounds are extreeeemly comfortable to sit in. What’s more, after you stand up, the shape of your gesture and hip can be recorded on it.

This is not an ordinary bed at all, though it appears to be. You know, underneath the mattress is not simply a woodboard. It is a huge container in which you can store almost anything.

This is a convenient desk for the lazy. With it, you can have coffee and reading in bed. It can stand quite firmly, so do be afraid about whether it will collapse in a minute.

And, lastly we come to this–a wardrobe! It can be restructured easily as you like. The volume is imaginably larger than common wardrobes.

Aren’t they all fabulous to have? I am now dreaming of my full house…

DRYOUT Your Water Damages~!

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Recently, the southern part of China is suffering from pouring rain and floods, due to the unexpected overwhelming spring “drizzle”. Houses are swallowed, roads are blocked and mud-rock flow covered some areas. The situation is rather critical. I searched on the net for some remedies and found DRYOUT.

Mr. Lin is one of the victims: merely had his family moved into their newly built house flood invaded their town.

What shall we do after being stricken by flood, or say water damages? The work of cleanup involves more than drying the wood flooring. We also have to deal with various problems such as examining and fix the electrical systems, replacing and repainting damaged walls, and preventing mold growth

You must be infuscate since the whole project is so complex that it appears to be demanding our whole life time to finish! Then, you know what? Water Damage can lend their hands. They provide a wide range of services to guide every step of the way from repairing the damage to helping you with the insurance paperwork. You can also find numerous valuable advice and information on its website about how to prevent water damage, to deal with urgent accidents and to make your loss to the least after the damage.

To get all these conveniences, all you have to do is a slight click on the its homepage and a brief registration. Then all the things left are to relax in the coach waiting for their visit.

Yesterday

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

Yesterday, I went to The First Symposium on Translation Theory & Foreign Language Teaching in West China. There, I received my prize for Exellence in the Helen Snow Tranlation Competition. It was a formal conference which I had seldom taken part in.

ALL the distinguished guests presented yesterday were none-exceptionally significant in the field of tranlation. After the host delivered the opening speech, we were staged to have the prize and gifts. The famous tranlator Prof, Cao presented the prize to me and kindly gave his congratulations to me. Not at all could I feel any arrogance. He is really a knowledgeable and gentle man, which was fulled reflected in his speech as the chief spokeman in the following part of the symposium.

It’s my great honor to be recoglized by the judges in this contest. However, I still have a long way to go. All the guests presented in the symposium are my models to learn from. How I admire them to have so large volums of knowledge!!
