Help Me– A Chinese Psycho Movie

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Last night, I went to the cinema again. Maybe it is because I have been captured in that isolated college for too long a time that I just can’t help do excessive relaxation after the release.

Last night, there was a movie called Help Me. At the first glance I took it for granted that it must be an American movie. However, when the light all went off and the screen on, I came to know it was a Chinese mainland product Then I felt a little bit disappointed, cuz’ it seems a sterotype that Chinese mainland product is always dull and cliche.

Beyond my expectation was how the movie turned out to be. As the plot went on, I found it was not a horror movie with mere blood and scream. To a larger extent it was a psycho movie told with suspicion.

Though this kind of movie has already numerous successful works in Hollywood, Help Me can also be called a forward step of mainland movie products, cuz’ from this movie I can see the producers are trying hard to improve mainland movies towards connotational and delicate. We cannot have too high expectation towards the growth of mainland movies. Or we will restrain the fresh imitations and innovations.

The Pursuit of Happyness

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

What? You mean I spelled the word “happyness” wrongly? Oh, you haven’t seen the new outcome of Will Smith right? Its title is “The Pursuit of Happyness“. I watched it last night after my long sleep. It’s quite good. At least it is encouraging and spurring to me. I would like to enterprete the title as “the pursuit of dream”.

Based on the true story of Chris Gardner broadcast three years earlier, this film takes us through seven months in the life of Gardner and his son, which includes his wife abandoning them, the loss of more than one domicile, and an attempt to complete a six-month internship that comes without a salary. After enduring many hardships, including homeless and living in shelters, story comes to a predictable ending of Chris becoming a successful stock broker (millionaire).

It is a viral blast of the American Dream. His efforts embody certain American virtues like determination and idealism and hope.

Smith portraits Gardner with a stoic sense of revolve, and Jaden Smith (Will’s real life son) gives an exellent performance as Gardner’s son Christopher. Together we can see them deal with situations that would push many beyond their capacities to cope with.

22.jpg7.jpg      However, no matter what the situation is, Gardner’s parenting skills remain sterling. On encouraging his son to live his dream, he said the line “Do not let anybody tell you can’t do something……”52.jpg4.jpg        As to the question why the movie’s title spells as “happyness” deliberately, I have no idea.

Exams Ran out of My Schedual

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

17th Jan, I finally finished my complicated exams. The whole school became silent all at once. Cantine closed, super market put on sales and the digital service center stopped its business. I couldn’t even find a place to surf on net. What a remote campus!

After the exam, really, I was eager to find someone  to share my relief and happiness. However, the fact was I couldn’t even log into my bloc. Following was only a long period of waiting– waiting for the day I can take the train and go back home, though I don’t think there would be anything more interesting back in Chengdu.

20th Jan, it was a day with the heaviest snow this year and it was the day I could get on a train and have a awful long journey back home. Before we got on the train, we seven school mates suffered the freezing weather and long queue for over half a day. Thanks to the unity of us and the genteelness of the four boys, we managed the check in process successfully without delaying.

And now, I am back in Chengdu city. After a long long sleep from yesterday afternoon till night, I am now energitic again. Yesterday it was snowing in this city. I felt dismayed, for the tirdness after 19-hour travelling and the tenebrious weather. Today is much better. With tender wind and disappearance of snowflake, I finally have some feeling of back in south where there is warm weather and moister air.

Three Subjects Remain…

Monday, January 14th, 2008

Today we finished the exams of Translation and Interpretation. Thus there are only three subjectes remaining to be done. Though the Interpretation is not finished quite satisfacting, I think I can at least pass it.

I am still worried about my Advanced Reading and British Literature. Actuallly, I only have ONE day to finish the huge project of the two subjects’ revision. I really doubt whether I can manage it or not. My aim is simple, only to pass them all. That will be enough.

OK. I have to go back to my books. Such a big headache to have a pile of files to look to.

Governer of the Steamed Buns?

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Resently, the media are busy arguing whether the government should take such a tender care about how steamed buns should be made. It is said that even the size and shape should  strictly follow the instruction of the newly passed regulation.

11.jpg21.jpg

Well, does that make sense? Is it really necessary for the government to make regulations like that just to regulate trivils like this? More likely, there are quite a lot of other events are waiting for governmental taking care, such as poverty in certain areas, corruption and basic construction in cities. How come the government pays so meaningless attention to the indeed nonesense. It’s hard for me to understand. If things are to develope like this, should we one day be likely to wear a certain kind of cloth, eat the same thing and sleep and wake up at a specific minute, only because its the government’s regulation? Then that’ll be funny and boring to death.

Killing My Precious Time

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

After a whole day’s exam, I finally have a little time to take a rest. American History exam is not as difficult as it was expected to be. I only sat half the alloted time for it. Then I came back to the dorm, having fun on net. Actually, nothing is worth doing right now for me. I don’t know what to concern about.Idling for 2 or 3 hours on net. I only find myself killing the very precious resting time of mine……

I’m Worn Out!

Monday, January 7th, 2008

As you know, recently I am busy taking finals. However, only exams cannot block me from surfing on net.  Actually, I am trapped in a mess.

Just eight minutes the bell signalled the end of our Writing examination. Ten minutes later, I will be sitting in self- study classroom having revision on American History. What makes me in such a hurry. And it seems I am illy prepared? Yes. I have to admit that I was not hard-working enough in the previous days. My time was wasted on a messy problem. What if someone threatens you that he would like to be a drug dealer if you break up with him? Damn it! I am the luckiest person to handle the brain-teaser! How come I have to be responsible for somebody’s future like a mom or something? I can’t even figure out what myself is going to do… But I cannot, on the other hand, deny that I am one of the main reasons for him to make that stupid nonsense decision.

What am I gonna do?! Nothing am I expecting now. I’m totally worn out. Please, please if possible , just leave alone. I have to finish my finals, idiot!

Examine Day~~~

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

We are going to have the philosophy exam this afternoon. And the following days will be full of exams and preparations for them. I’ve spent a lot of energy on memorizing the principles and terms. Hopefully I can pass the final.

However, I’m not feeling very good right now. A lot of other subjects are to be reviewed and I was busy polishing my last British Literature paper. That’s really depressing. See how many things are there to be done: American History reciting, Japanese Vocab memorization, Advanced Reading revision and Literature summerization.

All the stuffs are a big challenge for me. If I am tough enough, I think thing will be finished rather satisfactory. But, really, it’s easier said than done. After the final, I should have a good winter vocation~~~

Carpter?

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

1.jpg3.jpg

People are constantly bothered by crowded traffic conditions. It wastes us lots and lots time only sitting in the car, cursing and swearing helplessly. However, Holland people are to say goodbye to the fussy trouble by replacing their on-road automobile for a brand new invention—flying car!

2.jpg

Usually, the car is a simple three-wheel auto. But when it comes to traffic jams, it can be transformed into a mini helicopter, leaving others shouting “gorgeous!” in streets.

The inventor believes that the “carpter” is going to have a big shot on the market. It’s much more convenient while the price is no higher than regular shuttles. Holland is now planning to build 60 helicopter ports to meet the future need.
