Life Sucks

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Today is so dull. Actually my life has been dull for a couple of years already.

Woke up late this morning. It was almost time for lunch. Dumbly, I had my meal with papa and sis. Then I went to the net bar to kill all the time I have in hand. Generally nothing to do. I find it’s quite unreasonable. As a youngester, I wander around all day and all year around. Who are the hell are contrubuting to the world? Is it baby or the old who are keeping world peace, rescuing poverty and making inventions?????

I really cannot figure out who I am and what am I doin’ now. Just wandering around. Now, it’s time for meal again. I have to go back home to do the only mission I have to finish everyday– chawing down my food…….

The Dream of the Red Chamber

In 2007, the final competition was held in Beijing to select actors for a new edition of The Dream of the Red Chamber  movie. Actually, there have had a bunch of video productions derived from this world famous chef-d’oeuvre. In the autumn of 1924, Mingxin Film and Video Corporation made a Peking opera- mode short film of  The Dream of the Red Chamber, played by the  reputable actor– Mei Lanfang . This can be called the first adaptation of the book on screen

After that, series of films are made as well as some Shaosing opera [prevalent in Chekiang and Shanghai]. They were all very popular at their time.

Among them, the most influential one shoul be the 1987- version. It was screened by CCTV. Even today we can still see the series played on TV. Personally, I enjoy this version the most. I think both the sets and the actors are very professional. The whole play seems like a real portraiture of the life back at a certain period of ancient China. All the actors are fully devoted to this play. They spent totally three years in the the Grandeur Garden in order to form a living habit closest to the characters. Thus the play is as successful as it always is.

The competition held last year has received floats of criticism. As a supporter of the 1987- version, I personally don’t like the idea of retaking the play. I think it will cause unnecessary upset of my fixed imagination of the work. However, preparations are being done for their retake recently.

An Icon of Beauty

From the moment I first watched Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, I knew I’d found  what a real woman should be like.  I’d never seen such a radiant and poised woman. Her stylewas so simple, and yet so elegant! I was just a kid, who didn’t know what kind of woman or beauty I might become.

Now, I am grown up and don’t turn out to look anything like Audrey. I am not thin.  I don’t have a style. I sometimes have mismatched clothes that don’t fit my body. My face is too plain to look a little like her.

Just today, I still think her as the true beauty. I decide to read the Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen…

Chinese Zodiac

Chinese tranditional festival– lunar new year is approching. Next year is “mouse” year. Here I find it necessary to have a brief  introduction to Chinese Zodiac.

0000.jpg  01.jpg

Totally, there are 12 animals in the zodiac chart. Honorably, they are mouse, cow, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, chicken, dog and pig.

Then, 2008 is the “mouse” year. I’d like to say few things I know about this small animal. It is ranked the first high on the chart. Why? Isn’t it a nasty animal in our daily life? Yes, it is. However, ancient Chinese chose it as an icon because of its smartness and quickness.

001.jpg   02.jpg

It is said that, when all the animals entered the final competition of ranking in the zadiac, elephant was thought to be the champion. It is powerful and respectful. However, the unlucky elephant encountered his clever rival– little mouse! In the competition, the wise mouse defeated his opponent by sidling into the elephant’s big earhole, making the giant surrounder himself.

Cute mouse, isn’t it? Good luck every body, in the wit-filling year!

110,000 Notes

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

16.jpg

It is a widely known that when civilian workers try to have their wages they are more like torturing themselves with indignity. However, this year the problem is much more different for a group of Sichuan workers in Wuxi. Actually they did received their salaries, but all the notes are odd money. The 100,000RMB are paid in near 110,000 notes.

 32.jpg25.jpg

It is a great inconvenience for them to carry those broken money in pocket to take train. Thus, none of them would accept the deal. Having no way out, they turned to banks for help. However, banks are too busy to count those 110,000 notes.

The embarassment of the civilian workers is as helpless as:

(Teller: Go to another bank to have your note count.)

(Worker: I’m not a beggar…)

Two Books

Friday, January 25th, 2008

On this snowy day, there’s quite few things to do. I went shopping on myself today. The cold weather didn’t allow me to wander in the streets. Before I freeze myself to rock, I went into a bookshop. It’s not very big actually, but warm enough to smooth my tight nerves.

I chose a reference book for my coming computer certificate test. That is only for interest’s sake. Then I spend most of my time in that shop reading worthwhile materials. Before I took that heartless reference book home, I decided to buy a book as extra encouragement for my vacation devotion to study. As you can see, the beautiful book below…  I love the author.

About the Peak of Railway Transportation

Friday, January 25th, 2008

I still remember it well that on the day I took train back home at Xi’an Railway Station, a fellow traveller told us to take good care of ourselves when get on the train. The reason he gave was shocking: several day before, a university student was pushed down onto the railroad and got killed by the entering train. Her remains were crushed into two parts. This bloody news made all of our other 6 mates terrified.

The problem with railway transportation is extremely intense when it comes to the winter vacation every year. This annual railway “festival” is usually “celebrated” by thousands of passengers gathering together at the waiting hall, followed by uninterrupted flow of people.

Isn’t it time for the government to do something about this? I think it would be much more worthwhile than their interferance with how to make  steamed bun!

PPP is great!

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

I found payperpost when I was surfing on internet. The ad of “Get paid to blog about the things you love!” on the first page of the website impressed me deeply. It’s great that it can make money through blog. I like blog very much and I like to keep a record of my life. It’s really a good opportunity if I can make money throng the way I like. So, I signed up.

After signing up, I read the agreement carefully first, and then I understood that only the blog which satisfied the requirements can help me to make money. It’s fortunately that my blog is qualified and I can get paid from PPP. When I saw the suitable chance, I selected this topic of “I signed up for PPP”. This is my first paid comment.

I hope to feast one of my friends, Dannil, in Pizza Hut with the first award I get from PPP and told him my experience with PPP since he also is a blog lover. If I can get more money from PPP, I would buy a new apple notebook to enjoy writing blog.

PPP is a surprising place and it arouses my enthusiasm to blog.

Roaming?

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

     1.gif

Recently the media are focused on the price cut of cell phone roaming service. No to mention what others think about this issue, I have two self-contradictory view on this.

As a China Mobile user, of course, I hope the price wil be cut to the bottom. Hoever, it seems like a arabian nights tales. No matter how intensive the public are urgueing for price reduction, the monopolized industry will steadfastly stand on its own place. No competition here in Chinese mobile phone service market, the alternation of price will never be sharp enough to satisfy the consumers.

We are just like the Donald Duck in the animated cartoon, happy when enjoying the roaming as well as other services of China Mobile, only to get hurt at the EOM(end of month) when paying the bill.

Snowy

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

It is my bad luck or something magical? Wherever I go it starts to snow this year. The spell proved itself when I was still on the train. Before the green vehicle travelled through the great Qin mountain, the vast land was all coverd by thick snow. After that the slipcover became thinner and thinner. However the snow hasn’t ever stopped.

I thought it would be much more warmer and tender in my hometown. But what my dear hometown treat me as greeting was numerous snowflake flying down from the sky onto my dozy head.

The following two days turned out to be better, but good things don’t last for long: it starts to snow again today…  For this heavy snow I didn’t get up until 11:15 am.  Well, it really is a good excuse for lying in, isn’t it?
