Excessively Fashion Lady– Iris Apfel

Even if you are a gaga fashion follower, you may not find the name Iris Apfel among fashion frontiers. But why do I say she is an excessively fashion lady? She is neither a charming model nor a super star in the fashion circle. However, she is one of the ten most significant interior decorator in morden architecture history.

50 year ago, Iris Apfel and his husbend Carl Apfel, another excellent architecture among the ten,  estanblished the Old World Weavers Company in America. Their regular customers include: the White House, MoMA, Estee Lauder, and super star Greta Garbo.

Besides, Iris Apfel is also famous as an fashion collector and a outstanding style icon.

In 2005, Metropolitan Museum’s Costum Institute put more than one hundred clothes on exhibition and made an album of her collections. Never doubt whether this small old lady has anything that will interest you or not, because her collection can really astonish you: jeweries of Gripoix and Roger Jean-Pierre( designers of Chanel, Balenciaga and YSL ), Haute Couture of Poiret, and initiatives from Lanvin、YSL and Ralph Rucci are all her daily wearings.
