My Speech Draft

Adaptation and Alternation Narrow the Gap between Dream and Reality

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. It’s my great honor to share with you my view towards dreams and reality.

Talking about dreams, lots of favorable, bright and rosy images are emerging in our mind. Dream is a blueprint people have in personal imagination about future. It is spurring, cheering and heart-stirring. In comparison, reality is not always a satisfaction. Undeniably, gaps do exist between dreams and reality. What are we going to do with the disparity? I’d like to sum up my answer in two words: adaptation and alternation.

Sometimes, obstacles and pullbacks stand in the way of our perusing of dreams. Even worse, disasters may occur to handicap us from continuing and retrying. Adaptation to the cruel reality is crucial for one to regain the pleasure of life.     For instance, a devoted ballet dancer unfortunately broke her ankle in an accident. And there’s no chance for her to return to the stage. Had she better commit suicide? Or is it wise for her to hold resentment of the whole world ever after? Any way, neither of the two options will be my choice. If I were the dancer, I may choose to shift my love of dancing to appreciating and teaching the magic of this specific art to others, cuz’ I think if one loses life or the interest to it, one loses all. Thus, we can say, through adaptation and alternation we gain more than what we’ve lost.    It is the same when comes to the pursuit of dreams. On the ground of inconstant realities, the pursuit of dream is always winding and perilous. However, no matter what difficulties or discouragements we may encounter, we should never give up or give in. We should adapt ourselves to the altered situations quickly and respond accordingly with optimistic alternation. Hold fast to your dreams, they can accelerate your efforts; apply adaptation and alternation to changes. They save you and bring you to a new start.

I really appreciate your sitting there and listening to my speech. Great thanks for every body!
